Adopting a furry friend into your family is a lifetime commitment. Puppies and kittens are cute for a reason. So one thing to consider when it’s time to adopt, are you really ready for this lifetime commitment?
THINGS TO CONSIDER:
- Do you want a dog that has a lot of energy, which probably means lots of walks and playtime to help expend this energy?
- How much time will your new family member be left on his/her own?
- Are you ok with your new dog being an indoor, rather than outdoor, member of the family – dogs are very social creatures and being outside all of the time is not good for his or her well-being.
- Will a cat be the perfect fit?
- Big dog or Puppy or a Senior dog?
C-S Animal ResQ believes that animals that end up in Shelters are just as deserving, if not more, of finding their fur-ever home as those animals who’ve never seen the inside of a Shelter. Many times we will never know why an animal has ended up in the Shelter. That, however, is not important. What is important is to try to help find that animal its fur-ever home.
One place to start searching could be the website of your local shelter. You can tailor that search to what you are exactly looking for. Another place to to check out is Facebook. Many rescues post animals on their Facebook page that are currently in need of rescue.
